The worst thing is: you make me worry (SC-verse)

[002 was rarely one to stay still on good days. When he was upset, the likelihood of being patient flew straight out the window. He'd left early that morning and generally avoided his partner for as long as possible, choosing to bottle up his frustrations and worry as he usually did. The problem with him doing that was that he was like an open flame, that bottle came to heat and then boiled over sooner than he liked.

That was why he was waiting now in the living room of their apartment so he could actually confront Orihime. He didn't really know what he was going to say or how he was going to say it, but it didn't matter, he was ruled by his emotions, and they were leading this 'conversation.']

[Orihime stiffens up, her back straightening as she gives him a tense look.]

But we're in a war here! We are all reckless! I want to be helpful too! I want to protect everyone I care about--I-

[Her lower lip trembles and her eyes start to get glassy. A few tears slip down her cheeks. Orihime glances away as well, her hands twisting in her lap.]


I want to protect you too Jet. If it means I am reckless sometimes, then so be it.

That's not-

[He wanted to bolt so badly. He wasn't used to actually having to face his emotions, but he knew it wouldn't matter. Orihime was stubborn and she could get things out of him he never wanted to tell.]

I don't want to loose you, dammit! I thought...I thought I was going to and...I just can't. I have to protect you.

[He finally managed to look at her, his face red from embarrassment at everything he was saying....but it was all true.]

You're all I've got here. Everyone else is back home...and if I lost you-

[He cut himself off again.]

[Orihime wiped at her eyes quickly with her sleeve then looked up to him. Her lips curved into a tentative smile and her hands reach out to grasp his.]

Then--

You're all I have here too Jet. All my friends are long gone..

[She squeezes his hands.]

Whatever may happen...I-I'd find you again in a different life time! Because I know it would not be a happy life if I didn't have you in it. I know I want to try all sorts of foods, to do different careers and see the world once this war is over but I want to do it with you so let's protect each other...

Orihime...

[He held her hands but looked away, hair covering his eyes as his face just turned brighter.

He was supposed to say something, he knew he was....but words were hard and actions were better anyway.

He turned back towards her and leaned forward, pressing his lips firmly against hers. One of his hands let go and came up to slide into her hair.]

[Orihime could count off all the possible ways she dreamed about receiving her first kiss but this one was something off the pages. It took her by surprise when he leaned forward but, she made no move to push him away. Her lips respond to his as her hands move to cup his face, pulling him closer.]

[It was a lot nicer than he'd imagined, once he'd actually done it, and he was more than glad to find her responding rather than pushing him away. He didn't really know what sort of response he'd expected, but he liked this one.

He pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, running his tongue across her lips in an effort to deepen it even more.

He didn't want to rush her, but it was hard for him to go slow when he wasn't used to it. He'd stop if she asked him to, though.]

[Orihime stiffened somewhat when she felt his tongue run along her lower lip. She shivered as she parted her lips for him, allowing the kiss to deepen. With the kiss turning heated it only caused her face to turn a rosy hue.

The auburn haired princess slowly slid her hands down his face and traced along his jawbone as they made their way to grip at his shirt.]
