He tried not to shudder at even the light nip, but he was only a man and, occasionally, a weak one. "It would. You're my priority here."

For a number of reasons. "It's only a request." He certainly didn't want either of them to feel like Anders was trying to control him, he'd never want that.

Well, that reaction was interesting. "Your priority but not Justice's. If I can easy that conflict, I will. My job here is only a job." He wasn't loyal to Damon or Subversion. He moved his mouth again and repeated the nip, more directly over Ander's pulse. Experimentally.

No, not Justice's...he wishes he could correct that, but he couldn't. Justice would want him out searching for the cause of the magic, but he could corral that energy into helping patients instead. If Alaric were nearby, at least he could split his worry in fewer directions. "Thank you. It will help."

He intended to say more, but what came out of his mouth was a small gasp as he leaned his head back more. "...you're being very cruel."

He takes Anders' earlobe delicately between his teeth and tugs gently before leaning back to look at him.

"I am being cruel?"

Seriously, Anders? Is he meant to take that seriously? ...Because he might actually be worried.

His eyes fluttered shut for just a moment and he could feel a small flare of annoyance from Justice in the back of his mind but thoroughly ignored it. Even if he was going to lose, he wanted to play this game.

"Yes. You're tempting me with touches that a stronger man may be able to withstand. I do not want to step over whatever line may be between us, and I certainly don't wish to ask for anything when you've been through enough." His hand reached up and dipped into Alaric's hair with a very soft tug to try and have Alaric look at him. "In case you are unaware, you have a very profound effect on me."

He responded to the tug - and intent behind it - by pushing back a little and looking up so he could meet Anders' eyes.

"The only line between us is the one you have drawn and have decided exists." He could say so much more about assumptions about what he needs, what he actually needs, just - He didn't because that one statement said it all.

"And whatever that line is you need to tell me."-

His eyes searched Alaric's, but whatever he thought he was looking for there, he didn't find. "I want to believe you. I don't want there to be a line, but you've seen what I am. The threat I pose. I don't want you tangled in my mess or hurt for it. You would be better served drawing that line for yourself."

An offering, a door held open, though he wasn't sure if he wanted Alaric to walk through it or close it, he had to offer it. He was not an easy man to be around on a good day.

"My line is that I will do whatever is necessary to protect myself from Justice, up to and including killing you."

It's not said meanly, but there's a sort of flat finality in that. He will not be victimized by someone who happens to live in Anders' body and realizing that will also kill Anders means he will try other methods first.

But he is hardly going to lay down and die to avoid it.

Anders leaned in to steal Alaric's lips in another heated, but short kiss. When he pulled away, there was relief as much as there was determination. "Good."

If he ever hurt someone he cared for because of himself or Justice, he would want to be put down. If someone else didn't do it, he was sure he could find the courage to do it himself.

"Then I don't want there to be a line. I want to kiss you whenever I'm allowed, pet your hair in the quiet hours of the day, and hold you close when we're alone. I want to touch you on our terms, not the city's and I want to see you bend over and under me. I want to tell you how amazing I think you are until you're sick of hearing it."

"I am already sick of hearing how amazing you think I am."

That out of the way - dryly, wryly, please stop Anders, out of the way - he slid the fingers of both hands around to weave together behind Ander's neck. He angled his head exactly right and kissed him. Slowly, thoroughly, deeply, and pointedly refusing not to let it be brief.

Because if he let Anders talk, he was going to hear more about it and he would much rather just sit here and kiss Anders until one or both of them was dizzy.

Anders smiled in response, but took his cue to shut up where he heard it, letting the adoration in his gaze speak the rest of his words while he leaned into the kiss.

The hand in Alaric's hair slipped down to the base of his neck to squeeze and hold, the other arms curling around his back to hold at his shoulder as though part of him feared Alaric might vanish from his arms in penance for the sunburst of happiness and contentment he surely wasn't allowed.

A swimming behind his eyes is the only reason he finally pulls way, though only far enough to take that needed breath. "Good," he finally says, "if it means more kissing like that, I'll continue to annoy you with it."

"If the result is more kissing like that, I will accept being annoyed by it in exchange."

He smiled, slight but warm.

"Now, can we go to bed or are you still convinced that after the day I have had I could not possibly want to have sex?" Because, Anders, no. That was just, albeit sweetly, frustrating and a little insulting.

His smile widened, but there was a bite to it, the edge of hunger he'd been trying to keep repressed despite the 'cruel' treatment earlier. "I did offer you the bed earlier, you know. Never let it be said I'm not a gentleman."

A gentleman who had to consider the narrowness of the couch and whether it was suitable before deciding, yes, the bed would be better. Not before he used the hand at the back of Alaric's neck to pull him in for another kiss, this one far less chaste as he sought entrance to Alaric's mouth to delve in and twist their tongues together. When he pulled away again, Anders lingered near his lips to press a low whisper there. "This time the bed...next time the wall. I bet I can pick you up."

"Don't make it a challenge." He'd try to find a way to meet it. He was smiling, though, slight but warm as he slid carefully off Ander's lap.

Once up he held a hand out for Anders. "But we can certainly get creative with locations, positions, or anything else you'd like. Tonight, I just want you."

There was still actually so much need there. The physical was there, but it wasn't his focus. He really, really needed to be with someone as himself, who was there for him. Something with some care.

"Now where's the fun in that?" Still, he relented. He could prioritize and his priority tonight would be Alaric, no matter what else was happening out there. 'Just let me have this with him.' A spare thought that he hoped would keep Justice quiet the rest of the night at least.

"Fair enough...then you'll have me." Anders took Alaric's hand as he stood and stole another kiss, this time to the back of the hand he held, before following the other man to whichever room he chose. It hardly mattered as long as he could lavish his affection on this man.

Once there, Anders pulled Alaric to him again and into a searing, hungry kiss. He let go of the hand he'd held, now to busy them with soft touches that trailed down his back to find the hem of Alaric's shirt and slip beneath it. Calloused fingers danced along the skin of his stomach and back and then up his sides, slow but confident and seeking those small shivers he hoped to draw out.

He chose Anders' room. There wasn't even any hesitation about it. It was a choice he made on a subconscious level, for so many factors that to recognize, much less analyze and explain, would have taken a very, very, long time.

They all boiled down to his own comfort and his assumptions about Anders' comfort.

His own heat was a little banked to start with, but quickly rose back to searing as he met the kiss and... used a grip on the back of Ander's neck to keep leverage to keep himself on his toes and in the kiss. It also worked to keep Anders bent to be within reach.

He did shiver at the brush of fingers over his skin, tensing and relaxing muscles under smooth skin. The brush against his stomach made him outright gasp and really, really, he should let go so he could duck out of his shirt.

He didn't want to.

He pulled back from the kiss when he had to breathe, though.

"Sit down, you are unnecessarily tall."

He'd rather peel undress Anders.

Anders' grin was teasing in response, even with clear evidence in his slight panting breath and the tightness growing in the crotch of his pants that he was most certainly affected.

"Oh-ho! yes, ser. Gladly. What else may I do for you?" He moved to sit on the edge of the bed, his eyes never once leaving Alaric.

Interesting.

Interesting and very, very much something Alaric would play with. "You can take your shirt off for me."

He would move closer to Anders after Anders had done that. For the time being, he hung back and watched.

Anders flashed a grin, but then schooled his expression into one of playful interest instead of the near-excitement about the game. Maker, it shouldn't even be a game he was into, being subservient to another...but with Alaric he didn't mind in the least.

In this, his heart won out, taking joy in doing exactly what Alaric pleased.

He pulled the shirt from over his head and tossed it away without breaking his gaze on Alaric. "Yes, ser. Anything else I may do for you?

As long as Anders knows they are playing--

In truth there's a lot of potential benefit for them both here, as well as fun, and Alaric's having a good time with it, too.

He steps forward, using one foot to nudge Anders' feet apart to make room for him to stand between them. "Take mine off."

Just one step at a time and watching Anders' face as well as his mind. Not out of fear but out of care.

It's a confused feeling. He bucked authority of any sort, the idea of being ordered by or bound to anyone was horrible...but not here. Not with Alaric. It probably couldn't be trust, though that might play a part of it insofar as they could trust each other after a month and too many secrets between them.

What he could call it was the swell of vast affection that he felt when looking into Alaric's eyes. That affection that made him want to lay down everything for this man. Something akin to how he'd felt for Karl, but deeper for not being a teenager's love confined to the limited people around him. That was the word of it, wasn't it? What a wonderful and terrifying thing, then, that Alaric gave him an 'order' and Anders wanted nothing more than to do that and know what else he could do to help. To serve.

He couldn't say if he liked this revelation yet or not, but it served the moment, so he leaned into it. He curled his fingers under the hem of Alaric's shirt and slowly lifted it up and over his head. When he settled back down, it was with his hands on Alaric's hips, that playful but entranced look on his face as Anders looked up at him. "May I kiss your skin, your stomach and chest?"

With Anders, his typical response would be 'You may do whatever you want', but that isn't right here. So, his answer is a simple, breathless, "Yes, and you should."

Then his hands are working Anders' hair down, deft and confident and not asking first but almost infinitely gentle in making sure there is no pull. It would be accidental and thoughtless and while he might pull Anders' hair at some point, it won't be unintentional when he does.

"And don't bite."

If he could purr, Alaric's hands in his hair would do the trick. He leans into them momentarily, but doesn't let it distract him from what else he wanted.

He leans in, starting low with Alaric's navel and planting gentle, reverent, kisses to the skin there. The definitions of muscle under skin received a few moments of extra attention, his tongue laving appreciation before his lips came in, careful to avoid even the brush of teeth on skin.

Anders moved his attention up Alaric's torso, up his chest, to his neck, where he stopped his trail at the hollow of his throat.

His hands in Anders' hair stayed gentle, but they tightened in gradual increments as Anders' mouth moved. Muscles tightened under the warmth, skin flushed, his breath shortened and his eyes darkened.

When Anders made it to his throat, Alaric bent down and caught Anders' mouth in a searingly hot, demanding, kiss that was hard and forceful - demanded access to deepen the kiss and then thoroughly, calmly, dominating it.

Without ever once turning rough or anything more harsh than steadily forceful.

When he broke for air he pushed Ander's back gently. "Pants," he warned, giving Anders to change his mind before reaching for his waistband. Then paused, looked at Anders and tilted his eyebrows up. "How do you feel about restraint?"

A moan tore itself from him and into that wonderful (perfect) kiss. Alaric demanded and Anders answered with everything he had, never once trying to push back. Maker, why in the world would he want to?

He very nearly whined when the kiss was broken, but he did as he was asked and began stripping off his pants.

The question nearly had him laughing but he held it back. 'Manically turned on' was not typically attractive. "Only in the bedroom, not with metal." When he was free of them, he leaned back in for another kiss, but he hesitated, waiting for permission. "Please kiss me again."
